For the first time ever in JRLFC history, a club will devote a day of tribute to Mental Health, Anti-Bullying and Teen Suicide Prevention awareness, The Waterford Rugby League Football Club will be hosting its First Annual Listen, Love, Learn Round 15th July 2017 at Noffke Park, Armstrong Road, Meadowbrook.
This event will mark as a notice to all forms of Mental Health, Anti-Bullying and Teen Suicide Prevention Awareness programs, that we are here to Stop the Silence, and will work in-conjunction with NRL State of Mind, Headspace Meadowbrook, Livin, #MTC Mates Talk Change and Kodi’s Message.
Although all of these programs are close to the club’s heart, Kodi’s Message stands out, as it was founded by Quentin and Michelle Pearson, whom tragically lost their son, Kodi, last year, after he was victim to bullying.
Kodi was a member of the Waterford RLFC family and always carried himself with a smile and promoted every characteristic of a natural born leader and all-round great person. The loss of Kodi has affected many of the Waterford RLFC community and this day, makes the commemoration of 1 year without him.
The Waterford RLFC are both humbled and privileged to announce that on Saturday 15th July 2017 we will be hosting our first annual Listen, Love, Learn Round to promote awareness towards Mental Health, Anti-Bullying and Teen Suicide Prevention. This community event will see a host of activities including live musical performances from local talent, as well as, our Under 15's team playing the curtain raiser for the day. The club will also have available for purchase commemorative supporter shirts, that can be ordered and purchased through our club merchandise store, see Arlene or Selena to place your order ASAP.On behalf of the club I would like to thank all of our Listen, Love, Learn Round Partners so far; NRL State of Mind, Emu Sportswear, Kodi's Message, Headspace Meadowbrook, Livin, MTC (Marsden State High School), Diggers Services Club and Greenbank RSL for their support. We hope to see everyone at our event; being around positive people and promoting awareness towards Mental Health, Anti-Bullying and Teen Suicide Prevention.

The Waterford RLFC prides itself on being a family club, and this is further instilled by the club’s ethos; “Family Matters!”, the club has partnered with many great organisations to make this event possible, many of whom without, days like this could not be achieved, and the club thanks everyone who has been involved.
The club would like to invite all community members to this free entry event of fun, footy and family and hope to see you there.
Special appearances by NRL State of Mind Ambassador David Shillington, ISC players and community leaders, with our partners available on the day for anyone just wanting to chat.
