girlz rugby league

Female Participation is the fastest growth area in the game at present. In QLD we have pathways for females playing Rugby League from under 6’s to ladies. In 2016 in the SEQ Girls Division consisted of 2 age groups, under 14’s and under 17’s with intentions of introducing an under 12’s age division in 2017.
Come along and give Rugby League a go Keep fit, learn new skills and create wonderful friendships.

Our GIRLZ program has been established as an introduction, development and progression system, with development, encouragement and support systems in place for the programs’ success. Under the guidance of some very highly passionate volunteers the Waterford RLFC GIRLZ Rugby League teams will continue to deliver programs that only cater to every young female athlete’s needs, but will develop stronger women in our community.

In 2017 our club will host ALL GIRLZ teams in Under 13’s, Under 15’s and an Under 18’s squad, all looking to build on the successes of their past experiences. Our club has a short, yet proud history of developing young female athletes and this has been evident of 7 GIRLZ selected to represent South East Queensland at the 2016 Representative Carnival. Our ALL GIRLZ Program has also been recognized with 3 of our athletes selected into the Emerging Women’s Under 15’s Queensland Academy of Sport Female Development Rugby League Program.

We are proud of every athlete’s achievements at Waterford RLFC and our ALL GIRLZ Program is no exception to that, so if you have a daughter, cousin or sister that is intrigued with the possibilities and doors that Rugby League can open, come and try GIRLZ Rugby League at Waterford RLFC.
